Relaxing in Pula

Croatia Bike Tour – Thu 4th Jun 2015 – Rest day in Pula

What a relaxing day. It is so good to sleep in until 8 am and then take my time over breakfast on the balcony overlooking the blue water. Got my bike gear washed and dried then rode into the town of Pula. It has a very nice “old town” so I just wandered around the cobbled streets aimlessly.

Now I am going to take the plunge into that beautiful clear blue water because it is about 31 degrees here today. Well I actually did but only lasted about a minute because the water is too cold for me.

Food in Croatia is not only of excellent quality but is amazingly cheap. Tonight I had the hotel’s smorgasbord, as much food and drink as you like, for a total of 115 Kuna (equates to about A$22).

Tomorrow I am heading for the fabulous town of Rovinj where I will be spending two nights.

Finally a picture or two of you : )
Glad to see your camera still working so well. Looks like yet another town. Almost at an end of the Croatia stage and have got through without losing any skin, becoming a gelato aficionado and becoming an (illegal) international border hopper. Congratulations

Favourite gelato flavours or unusual ones?

Im glad the trip has been a great one for you Kevin. Each day I follow your blog and wish I was there. Brings back memories. Its a pity you are not around July-August as the sea temperature will hit close to 30 degrees. The summer fun has only just started in Croatia. You will love Rovinj on your next stop. Cheers, Elvis.

    • Your country is just beautiful Elvis,I love it! And thank you for all your advice before I left Sydney. You are certainly right about Rovinj,it is magical. A sea temperature of 30 degrees would be just about right for me. It certainly wasn’t that warm when I had a quick dip yesterday at Pula.I can’t complain about the weather though. Except for a few days on Hvar and in Split it has been perfect, with today climbing to 32 deg and similar temperatures forecast for the next week. My trip has gone toofast, only four more days of riding until I reach Trieste.

By the way, I met another Elvis born in Zadar today. He served me when I called at a gelato shop in Barbariga. His family has moved to Sydney.
