On the road again! After my ride to Solin the other day I decided I had to come up with a safer and better way of getting out of Split than the tunnel and the busy main highway (both very scary). It seems that the further north you go the busier the roads get, so the D8 is definitely to be avoided. So with the help of Garmin Basecamp on my laptop last night I created a convoluted route that zig-zagged around the backstreets and laneways of Split then up the hill through Solin and from there followed paths and laneways along the foreshore all the way into Trogir. It worked brilliantly, not only was it much safer it was also a much more scenic trip. Thanks to my Garmin GPS navigator I took no wrong turns and ended up right at the door of my hotel, the beautiful Hotel Concordia right in the heart of Trogir. Not even the light drizzle of rain spoilt my ride.

Thanks Malcolm S. for telling me about Trogir, which was not on my original itinerary. Words are hard to find to describe this pristine little town, simply the nicest town in Croatia so far. My only regret is that I am only staying here one night, which means I only get to eat at one of the many fabulous restaurants in town. I will follow the golden rule when travelling of never eating on the main promenade, but find a restaurant in a side street a block or two away. Never come to Croatia without spending at least two nights in delightful Trogir.

Incidently, I have now added some of the videos I took yesterday of the amazing group Klape Žrnovnica so give yourself a treat and check them out.

Time to start searching for food, so I will let the photos and music do the talking today. Enjoy!
